We advise in employment issues and act in employment litigation for both companies and staff. Members of the Firm have experience in negotiating and drafting various employment agreements for Airlines, Telecommunication operators, etc. We advise companies on Pension Reform Act compliance, National Social Insurance Trust Fund compliance, National Housing Fund observance, P.A.Y.E. (Pay As You Earn) compliance, and general employee-related requirements of Federal, State and local laws.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Firm has invested substantially in the development of its intellectual property advisory capabilities to protect its clients' intangible assets such as patents, designs, trademarks and copyright. We regularly advise clients on the preservation and enhancement of their ideas, creativity and industry within a commercial context or otherwise.

The firm has long registered various trade marks in different goods' classes and advised on registerability, preemptive measures to guard against infringement, and engaged in the conduct of searches, etc.

We have conducted registration procedures for patents and designs and advised on notification regarding works of copyright. PRIVATE CLIENT

Ekwueme, Ekwueme & Ekwueme provides asset protection, private trust, wills, estate, succession and planning services to numerous individual private clients. The service includes advice on the most suitable vehicle for holding a client's assets, whether comprised of intangibles (shares, intellectual property, etc), real property, or chattels. SHIPPING LAW

The firm acts for shipping companies and agencies and has been retained by the former National Maritime Authority. It has conducted litigation for the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), and has been involved in research and development for NPA with regard to concessioning arrangements and advice. It has also delivered reports on application of maritime conventions and instruments; it advises in areas such as marine insurance claims, bailment, admiralty opinions and drafting of contracts for the carriage of goods by sea.
