Eudora is a partner / consultant to the Firm in the Dispute Resolution, Procurement and Tax & Compliance Practices.

She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1975 and led a long and distinguished career in the public sector after which she joined the Firm.

Her experience spans the whole gamut of legal practice from civil and criminal litigation (as a State Counsel, Attorney-General’s Office); Legal Adviser to the Federal Board of Inland Revenue – the apex Tax Authority; and Legal Adviser Federal Ministry of Defence and Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources where she acquired substantial experience in natural resources law, amongst others. As the Legal Adviser to the Federal Board of Inland Revenue, Eudora oversaw the drafting of the first Value Added Tax legislation, handled the consolidation of all Federal Tax Laws, and served as adviser to the Joint Tax Board.

Eudora was also Director, International Law Department of the Federal Ministry of Justice where she represented the country at numerous fora including the United Nations General Assembly and various international arbitrations. She has prepared and advised on myriads of legal instruments including financial, project-related, and bilateral treaties. Mrs. Ekwueme negotiated the memorandum of understanding between Nigeria and other countries on bilateral technical cooperation on areas of common interest and dealt with the ratification of bilateral and multilateral agreements between Nigeria and other nations, amongst others.

She currently conducts local and international dispute resolution as well as provides guidance for public sector-related activities including with respect to foreign investments; she renders legal advice to local and international clients on compliance with tax and other legislations; carries out assessment of, and advises clients regarding, mitigation of potential risks involved in various local and transnational transactions and disputes.
